The Foundation Board is composed of from twenty-four (24) to thirty-three (33) members. Fifteen to twenty-four of them are co-opted for a period of three (3) years. They come in equal numbers from three (3) colleges (tripartite representation). Among its principal attributions, the Board:
- elects its president and two vice-presidents for a period of three years;
- exercises a general overview of the Foundation’s activities;
- approves the standing orders of the Foundation and the annex to the statutes relating to the Foundation’s activities and future direction;
- adopts the criteria for financing the Fund’s activities;
- approves the annual budget and accounts;
- approves the president’s annual management report;
- approves the activity report drawn up by the Executive Committee;
- appoints, on the proposal of the Executive Committee, the members of the Scientific Committee and of the Honorary Committee;
- appoints, on the proposal of the Executive Committee, the Executive Secretary responsible for managing the Secretariat;
- appoints each year one or several auditors of the accounts;
- defines the ways in which the Foundation’s goals are to be attained;
- discusses and approves the Foundation’s programme of activities.
